This product was intended for use with a developmentally delayed person to aid in cooking. While it's safety features are exactly as described, the cutting prep work involved before using the chopper is so much that it defeats the purpose of the product. There are only so many vegetables that can fit in the chute and the rest have to be cut to size. That being said, the design is very efficient. It has clear instructions and photos on how to use this product. There are even a few recipes at the back. The top handle has a twist and lock feature to secure the blade. There are two knobs at the back to adjust the blade and a rotating dial to adjust thickness of the cuts. It also has suction cups at the feet to prevent slipping. The force it takes to push the handle is rather entertaining for little ones as they get to see each chop fly into the container provided which sits securely underneath. A downside to this product lies in the cleaning. When cutting very thin slices, the debris gather on the bottom and gets stuck. Even using the small brush that's included is not very effective. I had to use the force of the sink water sprayer to remove the pieces. Overall this product is well designed but does not eliminate the need to use a knife to chop.

This item is amazing for both it’s safety features and ease of use. I am a bit of a kitchen klutz and feel completely at ease and fearless with this device. Pictured are the delicious homemade potato chips I sliced with my Dash mandolin and cooked in my Dash airfryer. The tasted just like the ones i get from my favorite Portuguese restaurant but i’m Hoping they are much healthier. I honestly think this is a must have for all at home chefs.

Slicing potatoes to make fries has gotten so much easier now! I can rinse a potato, cut it in half, and then just feed each of the halves into the mandoline and voila I've got fries. (Follow this up by tossing them in olive oil and sea salt and putting them in the Dash Air Fryer and you've got a perfect batch of fries!) The mandoline also makes a great chopped salad. Just feed any ingredients into it and it's all chopped perfectly. (Romain, spinach, kale, carrots, cabbage, cucumbers, onions, etc.) I used to hurt my hands and wrists cutting into hard potatoes or chopping up tons of veggies. The mandoline is so much easier!

I bought this because I have problems cutting uncooked sweet potatoes. This makes it so easy that I've been looking for excuses to cut stuff up in it. There is literally no way I can accidentally cut myself unless I just stick my finger in there on purpose, maybe I just don't know what the safety flaws are because I haven't accidentally seen it yet but right now this feels like the safest option i've had in years with arthritic and fibromyalgia disabled hands. It folds up nice and flat an d doesn't take up much room in the drawer i put it in.

Thank you for making this, I've had issues using knives for years because my hands don't do what I tell them sometimes and drop things even more frequently. I wish I would have ordered this years ago.

Only improvement I could suggest is a bigger catcher bowl for the things you cut because sometimes they flip into the floor, at least a taller back on it would be helpful to block the random piece from flipping to the floor out of the bowl. And more intuitive directions on the back to tell exactly how your blades are set inside if you want to do more than slice. Maybe I haven't had it long enough to know what I'm doing with it but I always wind up staring into the holes this way and that to see what blades are out.

Overall this is one of the best things I've bought for my kitchen in years and was worth every penny. I definitely recommend it, especially if you have strength or grip issues in your hands. This thing will make you not dread cooking again.

Every Saturday I spend 20 minutes at the farmers market and then about two hours on my feet chopping the vegetables for whatever I end up cooking. This device is a game changer! Not only are the results restaurant-level impressive, but this one makes good on the promise that anyone can use it SAFELY. And as someone who has "just a little grace" and is therefore terrified of regular mandolins this was the most important feature. So even us Elaines can use it with confidence ;)

I really like this mandolin slicer because it’s easy to use and it folds up flat so it fits in a drawer. It has a cup on the back for catching what you slice and a guard so you don’t slice your fingers. I’ve used it a few times and haven’t had any issues
